Janet E. Irvin is a career educator and, under the name J.E. Irvin, the author of six mystery/thriller novels. Her works have appeared in a variety of print and online journals, including Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, Sherlock Holmes Mystery Magazine, Flights, the Oyez Review, Oasis Journal, The Zodiak Review, Literary Mama, and 42opus. Irvin’s debut novel, The Dark End of The Rainbow, won the Jeremiah Healey Mystery Fiction Contest. Her second book, The Rules of The Game was a finalist for the same award. The Strange Disappearance of Rose Stone won the Whodunit (the renamed Healey) Award, making her the only two-time winner of the prize. Rose Stone was also a finalist in the 2020 Silver Falchion Contest sponsored by KillerNashville. Her international thriller, A Principle of Light, takes place in Turkey and features a widowed Turkish poet and an American photojournalist who witness a bombing in Istanbul. Broken is a romantic suspense set in the Adirondacks. Her most recent release, Carrion, is a sequel to The Dark End.
Irvin is a member of Sisters in Crime, Central Ohio Fiction Writers, and Buckeye Crime Writers. In addition to writing, she serves on the Springboro City Park Board and is an active member of the Springboro Area Historical Society.
